A. Kultural o Historikal na Impormasyon ng Awit
Cultural or Historical Information of the Song
The Philippines is a tropical country. As such, it has only two seasons: the summer and the monsoon seasons. Roughly the summer starts in February and ends in May. The monsoon starts from June and ends around October. Geographically, the archipelago lies close to the equator. It is also part of the typhoon and earthquake belt.
According to the Wikipedia, an average of 6 to 7 typhoons visit the country annually. Tremendous damage happens to the affected areas whenever there is a storm: flood, death, damage to crops and houses. The places always visited by hurricanes during the monsoon season are the northern most part of the country; the Bicol region and Quezon Province in Southern Luzon; and in Central Philippines, the Leyte and Samar Islands.
Because of the havoc the typhoons create, so many literary works have been produced around this topic. In this lesson, the rain is likened to the pains that the heart experiences when tragedy such as loss of love or death of a loved one occurs.
B. Istrukturang Gramatikal
Grammatical Structure
The neutral or infinite form of the –um- verb is constructed by placing –um- before the first vowel of the verb or base. The completed aspect is similarly formed.
